WHAT EXACTLY IS KEY CLUB?

No we don't make keys. There's much to learn.

Key Club is a great way to help the community, and the organization itself consists of many different parts. They are: club, division, region, district, and international.

Club

Our club belongs to Vanden High School in Fairfield, CA. Members of the club meet together every Thursday in N4, and this is where students can ask questions, learn about Key Club, and recieve updates about fundraising or volunteering events.

  • Dues:

    • To be an official member of the club you have to pay a small fee of $11.50 which we call "dues." If you don't pay dues, then your volunteer hours will not count towards colleges.

    • $7.00 is for international use (administrative budget, ICON, awards, membership cards + pins) and $4.50 is for district use (administrative budget, scholarships, awards).

  • Hours and Events:

    • During meetings or through remind texts, officers of the club find and announce volunteer events for students to attend and help out at.

    • Volunteer hours are tracked and recorded by the club's secretary. Having many hours of service is a good way to win awards or be recognized as member of the month. Every term your hours are refreshed, so make sure to keep track of your total hours on your own as well!

Division
Vanden High's club belongs to Division 8. Every division has their own mascot, colors, and cheers. Several schools belong to the same division, and students have many oppurtunities to meet students from other schools at DCMs or OTC.

  • DCMs:

    • DCM stands for Division Council Meeting. These are social events that allows members from the schools above meet up, get to know each other, and recieve division updates from the LTG. Each DCM is different as well. Sometimes members ice skate, watch movies, or participate in games.

  • OTC:

    • Also known as Officer Training Conference, this is an event that allowed students interested in running to be a board member to learn more about the different positions and the tasks each is expected to do.

    • This event is business casual, so if you attend dress to impress!

  • Mascot and Colors:

    • Our division mascot is the 8 Ball. Go Ballers!

    • Our spirit colors are black, white, and silver. Wear these colors to FRN to show spirit!

Region

Division 8 belongs to Region 9. A region is the designated area made out of different regions.

  • Divisions in Region 9:

    • Division 2

    • Division 8 Ballers

    • Division 26N Red Devils

    • This event is a great opportunity to learn more about key club through workshops and bond with other members from Region 9!

District

Region 9 is part of the CNH District, also known as the California-Nevada-Hawaii district. This means clubs fro all three states are part of the same district and join together for district events such as FRN and DCON.

  • FRN:

    • Also known as Fall Rally North, this is definitely one of the most popular Key Club events. Clubs from all over the district join together at Six Flags to show their club spirit and raise money for charities.

    • Wear club colors and learn the cheers to show spirit! Some also make tutus and signs as well!

  • DCON:

    • Also called District Convention, this is an overnight event where students spend the weekend at a hotel to learn more about key club and college, attend an awards ceremony, party, and more!

    • This event is not free, talk to board members for more information about price and transportation.

International

Key Club International refers to the entire organization as a whole. The core values of Key Club International are leadership, character building, caring and inclusiveness.
